Emily Johnson/Catalyst Dance

Emily Johnson is a Bessie Award-winning choreographer who makes body-based work. Originally from Alaska, she is of Yup’ik descent and is now based in Minneapolis, Minnesota and New York City. Her dances function as installations, engaging audiences within and through a space and environment—interacting with a place’s architecture, history, and role in community.

GLITCH

Mill City Museum

Built within the ruins of the National Historic Landmark Washburn A Mill, the award-winning Mill City Museum chronicles the people and industries that built Minneapolis, transformed a region, and influenced our world. The story comes to life through the eight-story Flour Tower, Water Lab, Baking Lab and other hands-on exhibits.

MINN_LAB

MINN_LAB is a design collective composed of architects, landscape architects, computer scientists and educators. We seek to engage and facilitate cross disciplinary dialogue within the design community, manifesting in the creation and curation of site based installations that foster awareness and critical inquiry into the nature of our cities and the communities we live in.

Minnesota Sacred Harp Singers

The Minnesota State Sacred Harp Singing Convention meets regularly to sing from The Sacred Harp and other American shaped-note tunebooks. We’re a singing community, not a performance group. Northern Lights.mn

Northern Lights.mn is a roving, collaborative, interactive media-oriented arts agency from the Twin Cities for the world. It presents innovative art in the public sphere, both physical and virtual, focusing on artists creatively using technology, both old and new, to engender new relations between audience and artwork and more broadly between citizenry and their built environment.

Sumunar Indonesian Music & Dance

Sumunar Indonesian Music & Dance promotes understanding of and appreciation for Indonesian music, dance, and culture through education and performance, with community classes in Javanese gamelan and dance; school residencies that teach traditional music, dance, and puppetry; and public performances.

Sundance Institute

Celebrating its 10th Anniversary, Sundance Institute’s New Frontier program has showcased and advanced the work of artists and technologists working together to push the boundaries of storytelling. NF exhibitions chronicle new media growth and advancements, including the progression of story-based, virtual reality-enabled experiences, which are viewed by many as the next big thing in film and entertainment.
