Beehive

Explore a creative response celebrating the essential role of bees in our ecosystem through the lens of design. A series of workshops that will educate and inform participants about the bee’s plight and how society can play a role in its survival and ultimately the planet’s survival.

Timed Events

Culinary  Experience a “feast” around honey – from appetizers to dessert.

  • 9  pm  Appetizer
  • 11 pm  Dessert

Design  Block Printing Workshop 

  • 9 pm until supplies are gone.

Build-A-Bee Workshop

  • 10 pm Design and create your own bee. (Supplies for 1,000 participants.)

All Night Displays

Design – Info graphics to explain what’s happening to bees and what bees do for humans.

Interior Design – The students will explore the “dance of the bees” through a light show in a ginormous bee hive. Student-designed light boxes will showcase the dances.

Media – Video of bee farmers and how this affects them and an animation explaining the science behind the climate change affecting bees.

Photography – Be a Bee photo booth.
