Glacier calving. Credit: Heckadecimal.
When glaciers calve, hundred thousand ton icebergs fall hundreds of feet into the sea while tourists watch from their boats. Ice Fall – Feel The Change is a sensory experience that allows you to feel the process of calving. Participants will suspend their bodies on surfaces aimed at a 120 foot projection on the Gold Medal Silos. The experience will build in intensity as the night progresses until it begins to dissipate and degrade into signs of climate change. Come feel the effects.
Joshua McGarvey is an artist living and working in Minneapolis. He holds an MFA from the University of Minnesota and recently receied the Art(ists)s On The Verge fellowship.
